That talk about the Dallas Cowboys being the best team in the NFL didn’t last long.
Their loss to the 0-2 Arizona Cardinals put the brakes on the hype, and while they should still be considered an elite team in the NFC, it exposed some of their biggest needs.
According to former QB Robert Griffin III, they actually should be missing Ezekiel Elliott right now.
In an appearance on ESPN’s Get Up, Griffin claimed that as much as people talked about Zeke being washed, he was 17 for 21 in short-yardage conversions on third down last season, adding that he could take a lot of pressure off Dak Prescott’s shoulders, especially in the end zone.
"It felt like two or three years, everyone … was talking about Zeke being washed. But the bottom line is, the Dallas Cowboys miss Zeke right now."

Prescott threw a game-sealing interception to put an end to their comeback attempt, once again struggling with the game on the line.
Likewise, the former Washington Commanders star talked about the Cowboys missing a physical mismatch in the end zone now that Dalton Schultz isn’t out there.
He believes they need a big body lining up at the TE position to create mismatches and help Brandin Cooks and the receiving corps get open, suggesting they should go all-in to try and trade for Atlanta Falcons star Kyle Pitts, assuming he could be available.
Whatever the case, it’s not the end of the world because they lost one game, and it’s too early to panic.
They are still an elite defensive team, but the past seasons have proven that putting all or most of the weight on Prescott has rarely worked out for them.
