For years, people have talked about the New England Patriots and the so-called Patriot Way.
Some have praised HC Bill Belichick for his ways and how they’ve managed to find success, while others believe there has never been any sort of mystical secret; it was all thanks to Tom Brady.
Whatever the case, former NFL QB Robert Griffin III believes Belichick deserves an opportunity to fix the mess he’s created within the organization after Brady left.
In his recent appearance on ESPN’s Get Up, Griffin stated that the Patriots Way will die with Belichick the second he resigns or gets fired.
"If Bill Belichick gets fired or resigns after this year or in the future, the 'Patriot Way' dies with him."

He explained that players today respond to different stimuli and that the game has changed a lot since Belichick got into coaching, which is perhaps why his assistants haven’t found the same success away from Foxboro.
Simply put, Griffin believes that Belichick gets away with mistreating his players because he’s earned his stripes and the guys respect him because he’s a legend, but they’re not going to deal with anybody else yelling at them and making them feel expendable.
That’s a fair assessment.
But at the end of the day, all that matters is winning football games, and there’s no reason to hold onto someone who’s not helping you achieve that.
The Patriots have drafted poorly and their system just seems outdated.
Perhaps the Patriot Way dying could be the best thing that could happen to them right now.
It was a great ride.
