The New York Jets were dealt a massive blow in Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season when they saw Aaron Rodgers leave the field with an injury on the team’s first drive against the Buffalo Bills.
Rodgers needed to be assisted off the field and was ruled out for the remainder of the game, an ominous sign of things to come.
Reports later trickled out that the team feared an Achilles injury and that was later confirmed when news broke that Rodgers had ruptured his Achilles and would miss the remainder of the season.
Although Zach Wilson was able to step in and lead the Jets to an improbable win, the question now is if New York can fully trust Wilson to be the starting quarterback for the rest of the year.
His showing against Buffalo was solid, though it’s hard to imagine that he’ll be able to carry them to many victories.
Some people on social media have speculated on who the Jets could bring in, though Robert Griffin III took exception to one fan who spliced a clip of him that insinuated he could come in and take the job from Wilson via his Twitter account.
“Grant. Stop chasing clout,” Griffin said. “Do your job and post the whole clip instead of being a weasel. The point is Zach Wilson gives the Jets the best chance to win. No one off the street will save the Jets.”

In the edited clip, Griffin is cut off when talking about potential veterans who New York could sign.
However, Griffin posts the original clip in its entirety and he is clearly heard explaining that the Jets’ best shot of winning is with Wilson.
