Fans, analysts, and even former players criticized — and mocked — the New York Giants decision to commit so much money to Daniel Jones this offseason.
Most people thought the right way to go was to place him under the franchise tag, so he could prove that last year’s improvement wasn’t a fluke, and then use the money to sign Saquon Barkley to a long-term deal.
That could’ve saved them a ton of drama in the offseason and wouldn’t make them look so bad about their future right now.
At least, that’s how former star Richard Sherman seems to feel.
In his latest appearance on Undisputed, the former Pro-Bowler claimed that he believes HC Brian Daboll is disappointed because he realized that he’s stuck with Daniel Jones for the time being.

There was plenty of hope in the Daboll-Jones pairing, with some analysts thinking he could have a similar impact on his career like the one he had on Josh Allen.
The early returns were encouraging, as Jones had the best season of his career.
However, even then, his numbers were far from impressive.
Jones now has $80 million guaranteed for the next two years and has been one of the worst quarterbacks in the league in terms of production this season.
And while the Giants could still get rid of him at some point in the future, there’s not much they can do this year, and it doesn’t seem like Daboll is happy with his QB1 at all right now.
