The Denver Nuggets won the 2023 NBA championship in five games against the Miami Heat.
But instead of focusing on beating the Heat, the Nuggets were arguably more focused on their sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2023 Western Conference Finals.
Sure, the Lakers are the most decorated team in NBA history, as they have 17 championship banners hanging in the Crypto.com Arena, tied for most with the Boston Celtics.
However, the Nuggets’ obsession with the Purple and Gold gives off “weird energy,” per Richard Sherman via “Undisputed.”
“At least talk about the team you beat in the NBA Finals, it feels really obsessive,” Sherman said.

Sherman urged the Nuggets to at least talk more about the team that they beat in the NBA Finals, the Heat.
Similar to most people in the NBA community, Sherman finds it really obsessive behavior on the Nuggets’ part.
The Lakers have taken note of the Nuggets’ antics and want to get back at the team in the upcoming season.
As a result, the Lakers are prepared to seek revenge against the Nuggets.
The Lakers have vastly improved their roster, so it’s not a long shot for them to get the better of the defending champions if they are matched in the playoffs again.
But before that, the two sides will lock horns on October 24, 2023, during the season opener.
It will be a great way to gauge the potential of each side entering the new season.
Which team will come out as the victor?
On paper, the Lakers certainly seem better than the Nuggets, at least for the 2023-24 season.
