Tua Tagovailoa has the Miami Dolphins in a great position nearly midway through the 2023 NFL season as they own a 5-1 record and are one of the favorites to come out of the AFC.
Tagovailoa has dealt with various injuries during his career, but this season he’s fully healthy and looks in complete command of the offense.
Mike McDaniel gets a lot of the credit for his system being able to generate so many explosive plays weekly, but Tagovailoa also deserves his fair share of praise for the work he’s done.
Having weapons like Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Raheem Mostert definitely help, but the quarterback remains the most important part of the offensive ecosystem.
Although the Dolphins are playing well, there are still some people who aren’t confident that Tagovailoa can keep this pace up.
However, Rich Eisen shot back at those notions via The Rich Eisen Show.
“All quarterbacks are system quarterbacks, right? Or they at least, in part, help dictate the system based on their skill sets — people just don’t want to give Tua his flowers for leading the record-breaking Dolphins offense,” Eisen said.

The start of Tagovailoa’s career was rocky, so people are holding onto their original opinions about the Alabama product.
However, Eisen points out that every quarterback is a by-product of the system they’re in and Tagovailoa has just been doing what’s been asked of him and succeeding at it.
The signal-caller probably doesn’t care too much about the negative perceptions of him considering how much the team is winning, but he will have a chance to quiet them more if he can lead the Dolphins to a victory over the Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday.
