Damian Lillard is nearing his mid-30s, but he’s still one of the best players in his position in the NBA.
Lillard has what it takes to completely change the outcome of a game with his performance.
Keeping that in mind, it’s no surprise that many teams have lined up to trade for Lillard since his request from the Portland Trail Blazers earlier this summer.
While Lillard has specifically mentioned wanting to be traded to the Miami Heat, as per NBA insider Kyle Neubeck via NBACentral on Twitter, the Philadelphia 76ers have engaged in trade talks regarding the star player.
“The Sixers have certainly talked to the Blazers about Dame at different points throughout this offseason,” Neubeck reported.
The Sixers contacted the Blazers to discuss a Damian Lillard trade, per @KyleNeubeck

Now, that’s a new twist to the Damian Lillard trade saga.
While Lillard hasn’t shown any interest in being traded to any other team than the Heat, he may be open to changing that opinion for the 76ers.
The 76ers already have a dynamic duo of Joel Embiid and James Harden on the roster.
Adding Lillard to the mix could do wonders for the team.
Moreover, they also have a young stud in Tyrese Maxey, but if Lillard gets traded to the 76ers, Maxey will most likely be included in the trade package.
Dame averaged 32.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game last season and also made 58 appearances.
Lillard is undoubtedly a great player, and if he can stay healthy next season, he may become the deciding factor for the eventual NBA champions of the league.
Will the 76ers finally be the team that trades for Lillard after weeks of rumors about his potential move to the Heat?
