The New York Knicks took a big step forward last season by finishing with a 47-35 record and winning their first playoff series in 10 years.
But it isn’t enough for long-suffering fans who have been starving for the Knicks to become title contenders for the first time since the 1990s.
Big man Mitchell Robinson is reportedly available for trade, and per NBACentral, Vincent Goodwill says New York wants multiple first-round draft picks in return for him.

That seems like a very steep price to pay for a man who has career averages of 8.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.0 blocked shots a game.
Robinson, a second-round pick in 2018, is an energetic center who has started for the Knicks over the past three seasons, and he has provided them with defense, rebounding, and intensity.
Serviceable big men always seem to be in short supply in the NBA, and Robinson could be a nice piece for another team looking to shore up its frontcourt.
The Knicks have a star in point guard Jalen Brunson and a stud in wing RJ Barrett, and they also have a very good player in power forward Julius Randle who has been the subject of trade rumors himself.
Randle put up good numbers last season, but his efficiency has been up and down from year to year, and some feel he doesn’t always justify his salary.
For New York to take the next step and become true championship contenders, they will have to make one or two bold moves rather than fight to maintain respectability.
