The Philadelphia 76ers are in a delicate situation with their star guard, James Harden.
The former NBA MVP demanded a trade from the 76ers earlier this offseason in hopes of becoming a member of the Los Angeles Clippers.
Considering Harden is trying to force his way to the Clippers, the situation between him and the 76ers is beyond repairable.
So much so that the 34-year-old star skipped the 76ers’ Media Day appearance.
It’s completely obvious that Harden is trying to force general manager Daryl Morey to trade him, but as per Gina Mizell via Legion Hoops on Twitter, Morey has a plan to counter Harden’s antics.
“Nick Nurse could bench Harden and let Tyrese Maxey gain experience as a primary ballhandler,” Mizell revealed.
REPORT: Daryl Morey is “unlikely” to allow James Harden’s behavior to force him to make a trade, per @ginamizell.

The 76ers obviously view Tyrese Maxey as a crucial member of their core.
In fact, the 76ers showed no interest in trading Maxey to potentially acquire Damian Lillard earlier this offseason.
With Harden trying to force his way off the team, it could be the perfect opportunity for Maxey to rise to the occasion to confirm his spot on the team.
Maxey averaged 20.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game for the Sixers last season.
He played 60 games while starting 41 of them.
But if Harden leaves the team, he could become the starting point guard for the team.
As for Harden, it’s almost certain that he’ll not be involved in the 76ers’ plans this season, whether he remains on the team or not.
Unless Harden fixes his act, there’s a chance that he may not find a new team, even in free agency next season.
