The Cincinnati Bengals find themselves in a precarious position as they’ve started the 2023 NFL season 0-2 and have a Monday Night Football game on tap against a feisty Los Angeles Rams team.
The Bengals were embarrassed in Week 1 by the Cleveland Browns and fell short in Week 2 against the Baltimore Ravens.
Although losing to two of their AFC North rivals stings, the organization has bigger things to worry about as Joe Burrow re-aggravated his calf against Baltimore.
Burrow initially injured his calf during training camp and was forced to miss multiple weeks before being cleared to play against the Browns.
However, by re-injuring his calf Burrow is now questionable against the Rams.
Despite the questionable tag, Burrow’s teammates don’t believe he’ll actually be able to suit up via Jay Morrison of Pro Football Network.

It would be a crushing blow for Cincinnati if Burrow is unable to go against Los Angeles as it would put them in serious jeopardy of falling to 0-3 on the season.
However, the franchise quarterback’s health should come first especially considering the lengthy injury history he already has.
Burrow’s calf injury is something the team shouldn’t risk as it would put him in more danger of making it worse and having to miss more time down the road.
Even if he does end up playing, he probably won’t have the same mobility in the pocket which could also put him in harm’s way.
The Bengals should make the smart decision to sit him and give backup Jake Browning the opportunity to start in his place.
