The Dallas Cowboys will head into the offseason with plenty of questions to answer after their dismal 2024 NFL season.
While the Cowboys lost more games than expected, it’s hard to blame them.
Their roster was ravaged by injuries, which robbed them of any legitimate chance to compete in the playoffs.
Dak Prescott was lost for the season due to a hamstring injury, while the defense lost Trevon Diggs to a knee injury.
CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons were also forced to miss time, highlighting just how bad Dallas’s injury luck was this past year.
In addition to player health, coaching also came into question.
Head coach Mike McCarthy’s future with the team is in doubt, as his contract expires after the regular season ends.
Owner Jerry Jones has been loyal to McCarthy, but should he part ways with him, the coach will be a popular candidate in the hiring cycle via Jay Glazer of FOX Sports.
“Mike McCarthy is actually on other teams’ coaching lists if the Cowboys decide not to re-sign him,” Glazer reported.
It's time for the Inside Scoop with @JayGlazer:

Teams like the Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints, and New York Jets currently have openings, and more are expected to become available after the season ends.
McCarthy is a proven commodity in the league and is regarded for his offensive schemes.
However, he hasn’t had much playoff success since his tenure with the Green Bay Packers.
Regardless, it sounds like McCarthy has a future in the NFL, though it remains to be seen if that’s the case with the Cowboys.
