The Pittsburgh Steelers’ never-ending cycle showed up again this season.
They got off to a strong start in the campaign, but their hopes ended in the final stretch.
They closed out the year with five consecutive losses, including one in the playoffs.
Notably, four of those losses weren’t even close.
That’s why, once again, there was some chatter around the league about Mike Tomlin’s time with the organization being up.
With that in mind, the Chicago Bears contacted the Steelers to see if they could talk to and eventually trade for him.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, however, the Steelers were quick to shut down that idea.

Despite his perennial shortcomings and not having won a single playoff game in eight years, the Steelers still value Coach Tomlin and have no intention of moving on from him.
Tomlin is a very good coach, and multiple teams like the Bears would gladly take him.
However, some believe the Steelers should take a different approach and rebuild their roster under a new coaching staff.
As for the Bears, they know just how crucial it is to get things right this time around.
They cannot afford to waste another season of Caleb Williams, who has the talent to become their first-ever elite quarterback.
For the time being, it seems like they will have to look elsewhere for their new coach.
