Aaron Rodgers’ saga has taken up much time and attention during the 2023 NFL offseason.
Although Rodgers has publicly declared that he would like to play for the New York Jets, a deal has not yet been completed.
Up to this point, a general timeline hasn’t been solidified in terms of when this deal will be finalized.
However, a recent update from Sports Illustrated has reported that this situation could be coming to a close in the near future.

According to this report, it appears that the Rodgers deal is slated to be complete before the NFL Draft at the end of April.
For both the Jets and the Green Bay Packers, this deal being finally completed has a few implications.
Once Rodgers is officially on the Jets, the team can start to build around him, adding the necessary pieces via the draft.
On the Packers’ side of the deal, they will be able to fully move forward with Jordan Love as their starting quarterback.
The Packers traded up for Love in the 2020 draft, which was not a popular move at the time.
However, given the team’s willingness to trade Rodgers, it appears that they are prepared for Love to be their starter.
While the trade package between these two teams is still unknown, it will likely be accompanied by a few draft picks heading to the Packers.
Due to losing their franchise starting quarterback, the Packers can use these picks to re-tool their offense, which will look vastly different under Love.
