The Boston Red Sox made a few under-the-radar moves to strengthen their roster for the 2023 season over the winter.
However, one of those moves has not paid off for them thus far.
37-year-old Corey Kluber was signed to a one-year, $10 million contract in December to help patch a hole in the starting rotation left by the departure of Nathan Eovaldi.
Unfortunately for the Red Sox, Kluber has started four games and lost every one of them, posting an 8.50 ERA over 18 innings of work.
Naturally, Red Sox fans aren’t too pleased with the situation either.
Kluber is set to start on Tuesday against the Baltimore Orioles.
On Twitter, Red Sox analyst Thomas Carrieri posted a funny meme to sum up just how frustrating the situation is.

For context, Kluber has won two Cy Young Awards.
He won his first in 2014 and earned the award again in 2017 with the Cleveland Indians.
As the meme shows, Kluber pitching in 2017 got fans very excited, as he was still in his prime and pitching like an ace.
However, the veteran right-hander has not had much luck in recent years, and his trend of bad luck has continued into the 2023 season.
Six years after his most recent Cy Young win, Red Sox fans aren’t exactly excited about the fact that Kluber is next up to pitch.
It’s still early in the season and there is plenty of time for Kluber to figure things out, but his start to the 2023 season has not been promising, and Red Sox fans are hoping for a turnaround soon.
