While the Boston Red Sox have made some important moves this offseason, it has been a tough pill to swallow.
Three fan favorites, shortstop Xander Bogaerts, right-hander Nathan Eovaldi, and designated hitter J.D. Martinez, all departed via free agency.
Boston still signed Adam Duvall, Masataka Yoshida, Justin Turner, Kenley Jansen, and Corey Kluber, but that didn’t ease the pain of fans after losing three cornerstones.
On Twitter, a Red Sox fan posted a video from TikTok, which summed up the sad reality of the Red Sox offseason, despite some of their acquisitions, and showed just how upset fans are that three members of their 2018 World Series team are now gone.

Even with the new additions, the loss of three fan favorites hurts Red Sox fans to their core.
The video in the tweet above is proof enough of that.
It’s been a difficult pill to swallow.
Losing Bogaerts now hurts even more thanks to Trevor Story’s elbow injury.
Story underwent surgery and will be out for an undetermined period of time, which could put Boston in the market for one of the remaining shortstops or infielders that have yet to be signed.
The Red Sox now have only a few members of the 2018 World Series team that are still on the roster.
Fortunately, they gave Rafael Devers an 11-year, $331 million contract extension, so he’ll be around for a while.
But other members of the team are either retired or with different ballclubs, and even some of their recent moves can’t take the sting out of the loss of several fan favorites.
