3 Reasons The Cowboys Will Disappoint In 2022

Every fan of the Dallas Cowboys was disappointed their team got knocked out early in last season’s NFL playoffs.

However, they still believe they can make the playoffs and possibly the Super Bowl in 2022.

But those fans are examining their team the way they should.

While Dallas still has stars like Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott on the roster, they aren’t the entire team.

What those fans might examine is Dallas’s 2022 schedule for the regular season.

However, there’s a deeper story about Dallas and their chances in 2022.

There are three reasons those Cowboys will disappoint fans in 2022.

3. Eagles And Commanders Look To Challenge The Cowboys

While these NFC East division rivals might not be ready to take the crown from Dallas, their moves in the offseason signal their willingness to challenge them.

The Commanders got Carson Wentz from a trade they made with the Colts.

He could make things more difficult for Dallas, regardless if he’s a long-term answer in Washington.

Meanwhile, the Eagles traded for A. J. Brown, giving quarterback Jalen Hurts another top-tier receiving target in 2022.

With the Eagles improving their offensive weapons, and coming off a playoff appearance last season, they could give Dallas fits.

Dallas swept the NFC East last season, but might not have that luxury this season.

Both the Commanders and Eagles can easily get one win each against the Cowboys.

That would disappoint fans after seeing their team dominate the NFC East last season.

2. Elliott And Prescott Showed Signs Of Playing Injured In 2022

Playing injured isn’t the best idea for a player who is a critical piece of the roster.

Doing that can cause the injuries to become worse than they already are.

Both Prescott and Elliott showed signs of doing this.

While Prescott missed games to rest, Elliot played with a torn PCL.

Why no one on that Cowboys coaching staff had the guts to sit Ezekiel Elliott down when he was clearly injured and running on a torn PCL is beyond me…

Zeke’s a warrior yes, but he continually playing on that leg behind that poor offensive line was a disaster https://t.co/Wq6Tigx3XK

That move could spell disaster for Dallas in 2022 if he attempts to play through another injury.

While his desire to win and perform is great, what he did could cost Dallas in the long term if his injury becomes season-ending.

If Elliott suffers a season-ending injury, it would disappoint Cowboys fans and ruin their playoff hopes.

1. Dallas Defense Doesn’t Deliver In Playoffs

If the Cowboys win the NFC East again, they’ll get another chance to reach the Super Bowl.

However, their defense has yet to show up for the last four playoff appearances.

When Prescott gave an all-star performance against the Green Bay Packers, the Cowboys defense let him down.

A playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks almost ended in disappointment as well.

But the most recent was the Cowboys defense allowing the San Francisco 49ers to run all over them.

Despite picking off Jimmy Garoppolo once, the Cowboys allowed two rushing touchdowns and 169 rushing yards.

They also allowed the 49ers to convert six times on third down on 13 attempts.

However, the worst part came from them not being able to get any sacks in that game.

With the Dallas defense laying goose eggs in the playoffs, they will disappoint yet again if they make it back in 2022.
