3 Reasons Following The Draft The Packers May Not Win The NFC North

I know what you’re thinking, “How can the Green Bay Packers not win the NFC North?”

While I’m not a fan of them, I’m also unbiased with the issues every NFL team has with their rosters.

The truth is neither the Chicago Bears nor the Detroit Lions will win the NFC North in 2022.

That’s why every Packers fan feels Aaron Rodgers and crew will walk into another NFC North title.

However, there are three reasons after this 2022 NFL Draft that might show why the Packers won’t win the NFC North.

3. Packers Didn’t Sign A Replacement For Davante Adams

Packers fans are angry over this take.

But the truth is they didn’t sign a player the caliber of Davante Adams.

Sure, they got Sammy Watkins in free agency.

However, he has only one 1,000-yard season that came in 2015 with the Buffalo Bills.

Even with three years of Patrick Mahomes passing to him, he couldn’t crack 675 yards.

The next thing Packers fans will say is, “But we drafted three receivers!”

While this is true, they aren’t the level of Adams and his play.

Christian Watson was the first receiver they drafted in the second round.

He’s a fast receiver and has talent.

However, his route running skills aren’t good and will hurt Rodgers, who relies on his guys to run their routes correctly.

If he’s taking Adams’ spot, without improvement with route running, Rodgers will have more picks in 2022.

2. Vikings Made Some Moves To Challenge Packers In 2022

One of the best moves by the Minnesota Vikings was signing former Packer Za’Darius Smith.

This guy hates getting snubbed by people.

I have a feeling he felt snubbed by the Packers when they released him to get under the salary cap for 2022.

That gives him fuel to get revenge against his former team twice in 2022.

With his knowledge of how the Packers operate, he could give Rodgers fits in those two games.

The Vikings also spent their 2022 NFL Draft getting cornerbacks and a safety, something they need against a pass-heavy Packers offense.

If they bring their best to the field against Rodgers, look for the Packers season in 2022 to be brief.

1. Packers Face A Tough Schedule In 2022

In 2021, the Packers only faced seven teams above .500.

Of those seven games, the Packers won five.

However, three out of five games were decided by three points or less.

The Packers enjoy a soft schedule, mostly because of six games against NFC North teams.

However, the number one seed teams from 2021 could give Green Bay problems in 2022.

While they face a soft NFC East division in 2022, the defense of the Washington Commanders and Dallas Cowboys could challenge Rodgers.

But they also face an AFC East division with three out of four teams hungry for a 2022 playoff spot.

They also face the Los Angeles Rams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Tennessee Titans.

This means the Packers are facing eight teams with a record over .500 from 2021.

It can also mean the Packers lose just enough games for the Vikings to take the NFC North title in 2022.
