The Tampa Bay Rays have been the best team in baseball so far this year.
They continue to fly under the radar because they play in a small market.
But there is no question they are on the shortlist of teams that could win the World Series.
The Rays have a record of 32-13 on the year which is four games better than any other team.
One player who has been sensational so far is starting pitcher Shane McClanahan.
He already has seven wins and a 2.34 ERA.
McClanahan is even on pace to break the franchise record for most wins in a season.
According to MLB Network, McClanahan is on pace for 28 wins, which would break Blake Snell’s record of 21.

In the 2018 season where Snell accomplished that, he also won the Cy Young Award.
Last season, the lefty has his coming out party as he finished sixth in AL Cy Young voting.
But he has made strides to do even better this year.
The 26-year-old was a former first-round pick and he is another homegrown Rays star.
Tampa Bay is competitive every year because they know how to develop players.
Drafting and developing is the best way for a team to become consistent championship contenders.
While the Rays may not be the most flashy team they know how to win.
McClanahan has developed into one of the best pitchers in baseball and he is in for a career year.
