NFL fans didn’t have to watch every game to know that the Baltimore Ravens offense took a major step forward this year.
Lamar Jackson was the defending MVP heading into the year, and he continued that pace this season.
He was effective in the passing and rushing game, getting a lot of work on the ground despite having a key offseason addition in Derrick Henry.
Henry proved to be an essential piece of the puzzle all year, adding another rushing element to the Ravens that they didn’t have in prior seasons.
He has one more year left on his contract with the team, but talks of an extension are already in the works.
GM Eric DeCosta was asked about Henry’s future with the organization, as Sarah Ellison reported on X.
“We’ll look at that. It’s a good question. I’m just so grateful that Derrick chose us last year. I can honestly say that his attitude and the way that he played was amazing to watch,” DeCosta said.
Derrick Henry has has one more year on his Ravens contract, but Eric DeCosta was asked if he could extend it longer:

DeCosta didn’t commit to Henry beyond 2025, but he did express how much he meant to the team this year.
Having a player like Henry on the roster is a literal game-changer for any NFL organization, as he brings tremendous value to the table every week.
Fans might want to pull the trigger and have the team sign him to a longer deal, but it’s not that simple in the NFL.
Age and injury concerns could cause the Ravens to hold off, but fans can be assured that at minimum, he’ll be back next year to help them compete for a Super Bowl.
