Last offseason, the Las Vegas Raiders changed the NFL’s landscape by trading for superstar wide receiver Davante Adams, which led many to consider them Super Bowl contenders.
But a promising season quickly devolved into one that was greatly marred by multiple blown leads and close losses, and it ended with them going 6-11 and missing the playoffs.
The Raiders have made a few changes this offseason, including releasing quarterback Derek Carr, replacing him with Jimmy Garoppolo, and trading tight end Darren Waller to the New York Giants.
Wide receiver Hunter Renfrow has seemingly gotten lost in the shuffle, but Raiders insider Vincent Bonsignore feels the team’s hiring of Danny Amendola as an assistant coach will help him.
Feel like this coaching addition can really help Hunter Renfrow, in particular. https://t.co/INCvB9lhyJ

Prior to last season, Renfrow appeared to be one of the NFL’s better up-and-coming wideouts.
He had 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns in 2021, which earned him his first Pro Bowl nod, but his production fell off a cliff in 2022 to just 330 yards in 10 games.
In the meantime, Mack Hollins emerged as Las Vegas’ WR2 with 690 yards and four touchdowns.
Amendola, of course, was a solid wideout for 13 seasons, and he is best known for his five seasons with the New England Patriots, which resulted in him winning two Super Bowls.
This move will reunite him with Josh McDaniels, the head coach of the Raiders who was the offensive coordinator in New England when he was there.
Indeed, the Raiders will have a number of Patriots alumni, including Garoppolo, who started his career as Tom Brady’s backup from 2014 to 2017.
