Garrett Wilson’s third consecutive 1,000-yard receiving season hasn’t quieted the growing whispers about his future with the New York Jets.
Recent speculation about tension between Wilson and quarterback Aaron Rodgers has led to trade rumors, prompting discussions about the young receiver’s true value to the team.
New York radio host Sal Licata recently weighed in on the situation, questioning Wilson’s impact compared to that of Malik Nabers of the New York Giants.
“I like Garrett Wilson, but has he ever done anything that Malik Nabers did on Sunday? Just taking over a game like that?” Licata said, via WFAN Sports Radio.

Licata’s critique stems from Nabers’ recent standout performance against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 17.
The receiver turned heads with his explosive plays, converting short passes into touchdowns of 31 and 59 yards, ultimately finishing with seven catches for 171 yards.
Despite Wilson’s reported frustrations, Licata maintains that trading the 2022 Offensive Rookie of the Year isn’t the answer.
However, he’s hesitant about offering top-tier money to someone he believes hasn’t fully delivered on expectations.
Co-host Brandon Tierney sees more promise in Wilson’s trajectory but stops short of placing him among the NFL’s elite receivers like Justin Jefferson or Ja’Marr Chase.
