The San Antonio Spurs have been one of the worst teams in the NBA over the past five years.
All of the years of winning championships during the early 2000s were a distant memory.
Many people questioned if the Spurs would ever get back to being relevant.
Well, it appears that one player is making that happen all on his own.
The Spurs were lucky enough to land the first overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
That pick gave them a player who has received more hype than LeBron James when he was drafted out of high school.
Victor Wembanyama, the French sensation, has been well worth all the years of struggle in San Antonio.
Wembanyama has only played five NBA games, but he is proving to be worth the hype.
Rachel Nichols said on “Undisputed” that Wembanyama has the greatest ceiling of any player in NBA history.
She thinks he could render the LeBron James- Michael Jordan argument “completely mute.”
“Victor Wembanyama’s ceiling is higher than David Robinson, Shaq and LeBron’s. He can render that LeBron-MJ argument.”

Wembanyama is coming off the best performance of his young career.
He scored 38 points, along with grabbing 10 rebounds and blocking two shots against the Phoenix Suns.
It was the first time we all saw Wembanyama have an offensive explosion.
He made 15 of 26 shots (57%) including 3 three-pointers.
Most players that are 7-foot-4 are unable to do what Wembanyama can do.
But, that is what makes him so special.
