For the third time in the past four years, James Harden wants to play for a new NBA team.
The former MVP is reportedly looking forward to playing for the Los Angeles Clippers, and he’s made it loud and clear that he doesn’t want to play for any team that involves Daryl Morey in any way.
It’s hard to think of a valid reason to want out of the Sixers right now.
They have a new — and better — coach, the reigning MVP, they’re a legit top-four team in the Eastern Conference, and he’s coming off averaging 21 points and leading the league in assists.
However, per NBA insider Rachel Nichols, the 34-year-old believes he should be running the show, and he knows he’s never going to be the main guy in Philly for as long as Joel Embiid is there, as she said on “Undisputed” (via NBACentral).
Rachel Nichols says James Harden wants to be the No. 1 option on a team again
“He thinks he should be leading the show. The reason why he wanted out of Philadelphia in the first place is that it's the Joel Embiid show right now.”

Ironically, Embiid and Morey were also the reason why he joined the Sixers in the first place, and they were one of the best one-two punches in the game.
Also, Harden has struggled with injuries and has clearly lost a step and his quick burst to the rim, so maybe he won’t be able to withstand the same usage he had during his prime days.
More than that, the Clippers also feature the likes of Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Russell Westbrook, so if anything, he would have to embrace an even lesser role, as opposed to being the team’s go-to guy.
