The New York Jets managed to reach an agreement with star DT Quinnen Williams.
There was never a single doubt that they would get the deal done, regardless of all the rumors and offseason drama.
As expected, Williams became the highest-paid player in his position not named Aaron Donald.
And even though he has yet to reach Donald’s level, the comparisons have been there for quite a while now.
With that in mind, Williams talked about Donald’s influence in his most recent appearance on FanDuel TV’s Up & Adams.
.@QuinnenWilliams is as humble as can be when it comes to being compared to @AaronDonald97 ?

The young DT claimed that it’s important to always have someone to look up to, and that Donald has become that figure in the defensive tackle market, going as far as to compare him to LeBron James in regards to how successful he’s been outside of sports as well.
The Jets were always eager to reach an agreement with Williams and continue to make him the centerpiece of their defense for years to come.
He may not be the generational unstoppable force Aaron Donald was since the very second he set foot on an NFL gridiron, but he could come pretty close, and that’s already a lot to say.
The Jets will continue to have one of the stoutest and most feared defensive units for as long as Quinnen Williams is out there doing his thing.
And you better believe he’s due for yet another massive payday before he decides to walk away and retire from the game.
