The NBA is where amazing happens, and there’s nothing more amazing than accomplishing your dreams.
That’s the case with Dallas Mavericks PF PJ Washington.
Not so long ago, he was stuck in a less-than-favorable situation.
He was playing a diminished role with an ever-struggling team like the Charlotte Hornets, all while dealing with a delicate personal situation off the court.
Now, he’s playing in the NBA Finals and has been a major factor in his team’s success.
More than that, it seems like life is going according to plan for the 25-year-old.
Recently, Mavericks beat writer Noah Weber shared a pic of Washington holding a clipboard in which he showed the five goals he set for himself in middle school.
Dreams do come true.

Unsurprisingly, he first wanted to become a McDonald’s All-American, which he accomplished in 2017.
Then, he wanted to sign with Kentucky, his hometown school, and he played there.
Washington also accomplished his goal of playing for USA Basketball, winning a gold and bronze medal.
And last but not least, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of playing for the Dallas Mavericks.
Despite being born in Kentucky, Washington spent his entire high school days in Texas, so he grew up rooting for the team he’s now playing for.
It doesn’t get any better than that.
