The Detroit Pistons offered an amazing amount of promise last season, but they want to show even more in the year ahead.
Because of that, they have been trying to accumulate talent in the offseason.
According to Shams Charania, Javonte Green is finalizing a one-year deal with the Pistons.
Last season, Green played for both the Cleveland Cavaliers and New Orleans Pelicans and is about to start his seventh season in the league.

Last season, Green averaged 5.1 points and 3.2 rebounds on 42.9 percent from the floor.
Before his split season with the Pelicans and Cavaliers, he played for the Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls.
The hope is that Green brings more defense to the Pistons’ lineup, alongside Ausar Thompson, Duncan Robinson, Caris LeVert, and a healthy Jaden Ivey.
He may not be a starting star, but he could be a major boost right off the bench and could participate in a lot of games.
The Pistons just experienced one of the biggest turnarounds in NBA history.
They were one of the worst teams of all time just a couple of seasons ago, but last year they enjoyed a massive bounceback and made it all the way to the playoffs.
They don’t want to stop there, and they want to show that this wasn’t just a flash in the pan or a brief pop.
They are building upon the exciting young team they have, and the addition of Green is part of that.
They may not be adding huge names to their lineup, but smart and strategic acquisitions like Green could be the perfect path forward for the Pistons.
