On Thursday, the Pittsburgh Pirates revealed some cool new uniforms.
These are their Nike City Connect jerseys.
Over the past several years, teams have been revealing their new Nike City Connect uniforms, which often pay homage to the past but also include bits and pieces of the current team design.
The uniforms include yellow jerseys and hats with black pants, similar to the 1970s design worn by the “We are family” Pirates.
On Twitter, the team posted a must-see hype video to get fans excited for their new uniforms, which could be worn for games in the coming days.
No matter how much we’ve evolved, what’s in our blood has always been true.

The video itself is narrated by rapper and Pittsburgh native Wiz Khalifa.
The famous rapper discusses how the uniforms pay homage to the fact that Pittsburgh is the “Steel City.”
He talks about steel and how it is rooted in the City of Pittsburgh.
Wiz Khalifa also gave fans a little blast from the past as he talked about Pirates legends such as Roberto Clemente and Willie Stargell.
Stargell was nicknamed “Pops” and created the “We are family” rallying cry in the 1970s.
The rapper spoke highly of Clemente, giving him credit for showing that an MVP Award is about more than just a player’s ability to perform on a baseball field, recalling Clemente’s charitable efforts.
Bill Mazeroski was another player who was mentioned.
He hit a walk-off home run to clinch the World Series for the Pirates back in 1960.
Khalifa closed his statements by saying that although the steel mills are gone, steel is still a part of the city and the team, reflecting the work ethic and history of the city.
