The NFL head coaching carousel seems to be the most pertinent topic in the league at the moment, besides the narratives of the four remaining playoff teams.
Many analysts have pitched in their takes on the situation, trying to predict how the dominoes will fall.
While there have been four positions filled, Jim Harbaugh’s new role with the Los Angeles Chargers has taken over media outlets.
The team at “Good Morning Football” has covered a lot about Harbaugh over the past several days.
Peter Schrager broke down the three things that the Chargers are getting from Harbaugh, which should help the team play better than they did this year.
Three things the @Chargers are getting with Jim Harbaugh, per @PSchrags:
1. An urgency to win. Now.
2. A physically and mentally TOUGH team.
3. An elite coaching staff pic.twitter.com/pxdwvFwXvs— Good Morning Football (@gmfb) January 25, 2024
One of the things Schrager pointed to was an “urgency to win.”
Harbaugh has a track record of winning at the NFL and collegiate levels.
He just won a national title with Michigan and hopes to bring his skills and winning mentality to the Chargers quickly.
Schrager also pointed to the Chargers roster, which he called “physically and mentally tough.”
The Chargers have several players who are among the best at their respective positions in the league, giving Harbaugh a great situation to step into.
Justin Herbert has been identified as one of the league’s top young quarterbacks, and several defenders are commonly viewed as elite as well.
The third thing Schrager pointed out was the Chargers coaching staff.
Harbaugh is joined by Derrick Ansley and Kellen Moore, who are both viewed as some of the league’s top coordinators.
If this trio can figure it out early, it could lead to the level of success that Schrager is talking about.
