The New England Patriots are going through a bit of a transition, and understandably so.
Not many teams have been able to move on from one Hall of Famer at quarterback and still find success, and losing arguably the greatest player of all time would be a massive blow for any organization.
But ever since Tom Brady left Foxboro, all that talk about Bill Belichick being a product of his quarterback has only gotten more traction.
More than that, it seems like team owner Robert Kraft won’t give his lifelong coach the benefit of the doubt, as he’s determined to keep competing at the highest level, regardless of who’s under center.
Kraft was non-committal when talking about Belichick’s future with the organization if things didn’t improve soon, so there has been plenty of speculation around the league as of late.
With that in mind, NFL columnist Peter King believes Belichick might finish his career somewhere else.
“Say the Patriots go 7-10 each of the next two years, and Belichick is five wins from passing Don Shula. WWKD? What will Kraft do? He may move on. If so, it would not surprise me to see Belichick coach,” King wrote.

Belichick has earned his stripes in this league, and it shouldn’t take him long to find another HC Job if the Patriots were to fire him eventually.
He’s also downplayed the importance of passing Shula in the all-time rankings, but that will be a talking point for the remainder of his career, like him or not.
So, it seems like he’ll need to work his magic one last time and silence the doubters once and for all, or he might be looking to rent a new home somewhere else before walking away from the game.
