The Indianapolis Colts may have finally found their guy at the quarterback position.
They shocked the NFL world by taking Anthony Richardson, as most projections and most drafts had them taking Will Levis instead.
Moreover, that also kept the Seattle Seahawks away from the Florida product.
Even so, Pete Carroll recently confirmed that they gave him “tremendous consideration,” going as far as to say that he might as well be the greatest athlete ever taken at the position in the NFL Draft.
Pete Carroll was asked on @SeattleSports radio how seriously Seattle considered QB Anthony Richardson, who was drafted one spot ahead them to the Colts.

The Seahawks met with him multiple times, and several analysts thought they were ready to take him to take the reins away from Geno Smith after a couple of seasons.
But with him already gone, the Seahawks decided to revamp their secondary defense, later taking another playmaker for Smith in the passing game.
Carroll has had nothing but praise for Geno since he arrived in Seattle and beat Drew Lock for the QB1 spot, and the team is evidently confident in his skills after signing him to such a lucrative three-year contract extension in the offseason.
But as much as they love him, they would’ve been wrong not to at least consider one of the QB prospects with the highest upside in the past decade or so.
Now, Richardson will get a chance to showcase his skills from day one and put an end to the Colts’ revolving door of quarterbacks.
Hopefully, he’ll be able to live up to that untapped physical potential and prove the doubters wrong right out of the gate.
