The New Orleans Pelicans looked like they were well on their way to picking up another win during the 2023-24 NBA season as they drew the Memphis Grizzlies.
Memphis has been one of the worst teams in the league this season and has been an easy matchup for most teams.
The Pelicans got off to a strong start to the game and led by as many as 24 points, but allowed the Grizzlies to storm back in the second half.
Unfortunately for New Orleans, they had to be the ones to witness the return of Ja Morant who dropped 34 points including the game-winner to seal the game.
It was a marvelous performance from Morant who missed the past 25 games due to suspension, but the guard remained his usual self offensively.
Head coach Willie Green didn’t have many answers for Morant and gave him his due after the game ended via Rod Walker of The Times-Picayune.
“He was fantastic tonight,” Green said. “Give him credit.”

To say Morant was great is an understatement considering what he managed to do after not playing an official game in over eight months.
The star guard has always been a blur in the open court, and his blend of speed and athleticism allows him to get to any spot on the floor seamlessly.
When available and healthy, Morant is one of the best players in the league who can take over games when needed and that’s exactly what he did against the Pelicans.
The Grizzlies have a lot of work to do to catch up in the standings, but they stand a chance with Morant on their side.
