Several years ago, Andy Reid was known as an NFL head coach who was very capable but wasn’t able to win that one playoff game that would put him over the top.
But now, he is known as arguably the best head coach around and one of the greatest ever, thanks to the three Super Bowl championships he won in the previous five seasons.
On Sunday, he and the Kansas City Chiefs will have the opportunity to win an unprecedented third straight Super Bowl title when they face the Philadelphia Eagles in a rematch of the big game from two years ago.
But to Paul Pierce, a three-peat wouldn’t make Reid the greatest coach in league history — he said on Fox Sports 1’s “Speak” that it would take four Vince Lombardi Trophies in a row for Reid to earn that honor.

Many consider Bill Belichick, the former New England Patriots head coach, the greatest coach in league history, and he has six Vince Lombardi Trophies to his name.
Belichick’s Patriots, however, never won three straight world championships, although his teams did go back-to-back in 2003 and 2004 in the early stages of legendary quarterback Tom Brady’s career.
There are plenty of people who, for whatever reason, refuse to give this budding Chiefs dynasty its due, but there are many who feel quarterback Patrick Mahomes is climbing the list of all-time greats himself and has a chance to surpass Brady as the consensus greatest player ever.
Although the Chiefs have had a lack of wins this season by more than one touchdown, they are slight favorites as of now to win on Sunday.
