All NBA fans are wondering just what Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs is capable of.
The French phenom has a chance to be the best rookie in a generation and could quite literally change the fate of the Spurs.
Many people are expecting great things from Wembanyama, including former NBA player Paul Pierce.
Speaking with Kevin Garnett on “KG Certified,” Pierce said that Wembanyama’s first-year statline could be incredible.
“He can give you 18 points and 10 rebounds his first year,” Pierce told Garnett.

This is a prediction that many other people have made.
Wembanyama’s impressive size allows him to block multiple shots and also grab tons of rebounds.
But he also has deft shooting skills too.
That means that double-doubles and triple-doubles are very likely for the star.
Wembanyama is the literal definition of a two-way threat.
San Antonio’s offense and defense could be taken to the next level with Wembanyama on board.
All of this has led to some lofty expectations, which Wembanyama needs to be very aware of.
People are hoping for great things from the Spurs star.
Anything less than a stellar showing during his rookie year is going to receive serious criticism.
Wembanyama will need to do what he must to block out the critiques and simply focus on being the best player he can be.
He knows that the Spurs and the rest of the league have a lot of belief in him.
He also knows that high expectations can be a bad thing.
If he can avoid all of that noise and just remain adamant about playing basketball, Wembanyama really can impress like Pierce predicts.
