The Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions steamrolled through the 2024 NFL regular season, each posting impressive 15-2 records.
They found ways to outmaneuver their opponents week after week, but does their dominance make them the most intimidating teams in the postseason?
Not according to FOX Sports analyst Paul Pierce, who made a surprising case for another playoff team.
“The scariest team, let me tell you the scariest team, and I’m gonna go a different route with this so stick with me, is the Washington Commanders. You know why? Because they got nothin’ to lose,” Pierce said on “Speak.”

At the heart of Pierce’s argument is Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, who he said is one of the NFC’s most gifted players.
Pierce said Daniels’ unpredictable playing style makes him particularly challenging for an opponent to prepare for.
This, combined with Washington’s underdog status, has Pierce predicting a potential deep playoff run for the Commanders, possibly even reaching the Super Bowl.
This is their first playoff berth with a winning record since the 2015 season, making them an intriguing team to watch as the postseason unfolds.
