After longtime general manager Bob Myers stepped down following the end of the season for the Golden State Warriors, the franchise faced an uncertain future with no real leadership in the front office.
Myers was arguably one of the best general managers in the game, if not the best, which obviously puts a lot of pressure on the team and his successor Mike Dunleavy Jr. to keep things rolling this summer.
Despite the major change in the front office, the Warriors got right to work after Myers left the team by agreeing to terms with veteran forward Draymond Green and trading Jordan Poole for future Hall-of-Famer Chris Paul.
Although the team made a solid move to part ways with Poole, many people have wondered how Paul will fit in an up-tempo offense geared around movement and outside shooting.
Former Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce told Rachel Nichols that he believes this upcoming season will be the toughest of Paul’s career due to the changes to his game that he’ll have to make in San Francisco, via Nichols’ Twitter account.
Is this coming season with the Warriors going to be the toughest mental challenge of Chris Paul’s career? Our crew thinks so… @shobasketball pic.twitter.com/tKGQjZEWrh

Pierce has had some questionable hot takes in the past, which has hurt his credibility at times, but he’s right on the money with this take, and it’s hard to argue against it.
Paul will be in a situation like none other that he’s been in before and will have to take a backseat to longtime rival Stephen Curry, which will be a tough pill to swallow, but necessary for success in the Bay Area.
Only time will tell whether this potential last stop in the NBA will be successful, but it definitely doesn’t lack intrigue as the Warriors and Paul try something different.
