The Los Angeles Clippers have one of the craftiest scorers in the game right now.
Paul George can get buckets over almost every single defender on Earth, and he’s borderline unstoppable when he gets into a rhythm.
Nonetheless, as good as he is, even the best scorers on Earth have a hard time against a given player.
In the latest edition of his podcast, George revealed that, for him, that guy is Joe Ingles, who he went as far as to call ‘the most annoying’ player” he’s ever gone against.
Talking with teammate Terance Mann, George explained how Ingles was trying to get under his skin with some corny stuff, adding that it actually helped him get locked in because he wanted to get a bucket over him so badly.
He later claimed that Ingles may have taught Royce O’Neal his tactics, as he started doing the very same thing afterward.
Props to George for staying locked in and not taking the bait, but even the mentally toughest players can slip every now and then.
Ingles doesn’t strike as the typical NBA player, but he’s as savvy as they come on both ends of the floor.
He knows every trick in the bag, and he’s confident enough to go at it with every single player in the league; it doesn’t matter who it is.
Even if he may not get the last laugh over George, the veteran forward may have no choice but tip his hat to him and his pesky defense.
