The Los Angeles Clippers haven’t been at their best since signing Russell Westbrook.
They wanted a point-of-attack defender at the point guard position and someone who took good care of the ball and could help them spread the floor.
Notably, Westbrook is very good at so many things, but he didn’t check either of those boxes, so it was kind of shocking to see that they made a run at him.
Then, the news broke that Paul George actually advocated for him and urged the Clippers to give him a chance.
That’s why it’s not a surprise to see PG-13 lauding Westbrook and asking for some respect, letting it be known that he’s a future Hall of Famer and one of the best to ever do it in his position.
Paul George on Russell Westbrook:
"He's a Hall-of-Famer. One of the best point guards. Ever… He's in conversations with the best to ever do it." PG13 knows ball 💯

George had arguably the best year of his career with Westbrook as his point guard, so this comes as no surprise.
And, to be fair, Westbrook is — in fact — a future Hall of Famer and one of the best players of his generation.
No one can take anything away from him, and he’s had a much better career than most NBA players.
Still, that doesn’t make him a good fit for this Clippers’ team, and one thing doesn’t have anything to do with the other.
We can continue to praise Westbrook while acknowledging that he’s hurting them more often than not.
And while believe he deserves more credit than he gets, it’s also a fact that they’ve looked better when he’s sitting in late-game situations.
