After an incredible NBA career, which resulted in two NBA titles won playing alongside legendary guard Kobe Bryant on the Los Angeles Lakers and a remarkable stint overseas playing for Spain and FC Barcelona, international superstar Pau Gasol will be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame this weekend.
Gasol will join a few of his NBA peers getting inducted into this elite club of basketball legends, with Dwyane Wade, Dirk Nowitzki, Tony Parker, and San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich also getting the nod.
The former Lakers star is connected to some of these fellow legends, as he played for Popovich and with Parker while competing with Nowitzki over the years as two of the best international players of all time.
With Gasol set to be honored this weekend for everything that he’s been able to accomplish on the hardwood during his playing career in the United States and overseas, the two-time NBA champion is ecstatic and took to Twitter to show his Hall of Fame jersey as part of the 2023 class.

Gasol is the latest in a long line of former Lakers stars to get the call from the Basketball Hall of Fame, as he follows in the footsteps of Bryant, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Shaquille O’Neal to name a few, that also wore the purple and gold.
The 43-year-old Gasol will be presented into the Hall of Fame by Abdul-Jabbar, who was inducted back in 1995, and former Chicago Bulls star and three-time NBA champion Toni Kukoc.
