Patty Mills is the sort of NBA player who can support a ton of teams in numerous ways.
During his 15 years in the league, he has averaged 8.9 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 2.2 assists and has become an important part of several teams’ cultures and locker rooms.
Now he is moving onto a brand new team and is ready to help them too.
Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Mills is planning to sign with the Miami Heat.

Just a few days ago, Mills was waived by the Atlanta Hawks after only playing 19 games for them.
During that time, he averaged 2.7 points and 1.1 rebounds during just 10.6 minutes per game.
Before his brief time in Atlanta, Mills played for the Brooklyn Nets, where he put up 9.7 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 2 assists.
He was with that team for just two seasons.
For the majority of his career, Mills played for the San Antonio Spurs and won a championship with them back in 2014.
He comes to the Heat with a lot of experience and a high basketball IQ, something the team needs right now as they hope to return to the NBA Finals.
Miami is the seventh seed in the East right now with a 34-26 record.
But even though they aren’t one of the top teams in their conference, few people have counted the Heat out, especially after this supremely impressive postseason last year.
There is always a chance that this team surges at the perfect time and has a strong playoff run.
If they do that, Mills will be even more helpful for Miami.
He will add a lot of depth to the roster and has a wealth of postseason expertise that can assist the team a lot.
It might not seem like a huge acquisition but the signing of Mills could be a major benefit for the Miami Heat, especially in the playoffs.
