The New England Patriots can’t seem to crack the Tua Tagovailoa code.
The Alabama product has had Bill Belichick’s number, going 5-0 against him in his career.
That’s why Patriots insiders Andrew Callahan and Michael Holley had no choice but to give credit where it was due and give Tua his flowers.
Talking on NBC Sports Boston, they admitted that the gap between Tua and fellow Alabama alumni Mac Jones has only gotten wider this season.

While they stated that neither is exactly mobile and the arm strength is comparable, there’s a big difference in the way Tua is throwing his wide receivers open, whereas Jones waits and hopes for them to get open before throwing.
Tua’s poise and handle have been significantly better as well, and even though having two stars like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle on the field obviously helps, he’s anticipating everything and making great reads in real-time.
The analysts also believe that Tua doesn’t fear Bill Belichick anymore, and it shows, up to the point where even the Patriots had to admit he’s gotten a lot better this season.
Tua has had to overcome a lot to get to the point where he is nowadays.
From major injuries to concussions and never-ending criticism, he’s earned every ounce of praise that he’s had coming his way as of late.
He’s proving that last year’s success wasn’t a fluke, and it seems like he’s finally put those debates about him being the right guy for the Dolphins to sleep once and for all.
