The Kansas City Chiefs went almost one year without losing a game.
The last team that beat them during the 2023 season was none other than a divisional rival, more specifically, the Las Vegas Raiders.
That’s why Patrick Mahomes might not have a lot of sympathy for Antonio Pierce.
With that in mind, it was unsurprising to see Mahomes like a post about his dismissal as the Raiders’ head coach (via Dov Kleiman).
Yikes: #Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes liked an IG post that the #Raiders fired HC Antonio Pierce.

Notably, Pierce had been very vocal about his desire to contain Mahomes.
He talked about adopting his so-called ‘Mahomes rules,’ referring to the Detroit Pistons and the ‘Jordan rules’ from the nineties.
The rules were known for being excessively physical.
The Raiders appointed Pierce as their full-time head coach after a strong end to last season as an interim.
The players rallied behind him, to the point that some threatened to leave the team if he didn’t get the full-time coaching job.
Unfortunately, that momentum was short-lived.
The team struggled on the field, and it seemed like he also lost his grasp on the locker room.
The Raiders will now be in the mix to get a quarterback and a new head coach.
On the other hand, Mahomes will be ready to deal with whoever they send his way next.
