The Kansas City Chiefs took a major gamble when they traded up to get Patrick Mahomes in the NFL Draft, especially considering they already had an established starting QB in Alex Smith.
Fast forward to today, and he’s the undisputed best quarterback in the league — and maybe the even player in the game as a whole.
That’s why it’s far from a surprise to see that he just joined the very exclusive Madden 99 club, reserved solely for the finest of the finest.
Mahomes took to Twitter to show how honored and thankful he was for getting the nod ahead of Madden 24’s release, talking about how he dreamed about that as a kid.
As a kid who grew up playing madden this is always a huge honor! 💪🏽 appreciate you! @EAMaddenNFL https://t.co/Zo765GKgKc

Recently, NFL scouts, executives, coaches, and players chose Mahomes as the best quarterback in the game, and rightfully so.
His ability to extend plays with his feet and make something happen out of a broken play is second to none in today’s NFL.
He’s got the arm strength, accuracy, and some crazy no-look throws, and it doesn’t seem like he’s got a legit flaw in his game right now.
With Mahomes at the helm, the Chiefs have reached at least the AFC Championship Game every single year, with three Super Bowl appearances and two Super Bowl wins in that span.
It’s still way too early to tell, but it seems like he’s the only player who has a legitimate chance to surpass Tom Brady as the winningest quarterback, as well as take away most of the records he amassed during his two decades in the league.
