The Kansas City Chiefs suffered big losses to its receiving corps during this NFL offseason for a second straight year, with the team being forced to trade Tyreek Hill last year and now having to replace JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman.
However, if the Chiefs proved anything last season after trading Hill to the Miami Dolphins, it was that this team can win with anyone that buys into the system in Kansas City, and that’s what they hope happens with some young players and new faces on the squad.
On Wednesday, superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes had high praise for second-year wide receiver Justyn Ross, who has clearly made an impression on the two-time Super Bowl champion during training camp.
According to Chanel Porter of ABC 17 News, Mahomes hopes Ross can make an impact in the Chiefs’ offense.
Patrick Mahomes had high praise today for Justyn Ross headed into basically his first year on the field, after an injury sat him out last season.

Last year, the Chiefs signed Ross, who went undrafted after playing for Clemson and was expected to make some noise in Kansas City potentially, but suffered a season-ending foot injury before the 2022 campaign even began.
Fortunately for Ross, the Chiefs value what he brings to the table and have kept him on even after the injury derailed the start of his NFL career.
Earning high praise from Mahomes this early in the process is a good sign that he may get some playing time during the upcoming season and play a role in this high-powered offense led by the two-time NFL MVP.
Only time will tell if Ross can carve out a role and see his NFL dream become a reality in Kansas City.
