The Kansas City Chiefs are sitting at an impressive mark of 12-1 and are within striking distance of locking up the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
However, they have an interesting schedule to close out the season.
They have three games in a span of 11 days coming up as they will face the Cleveland Browns on the road this Sunday, then the Houston Texans at home on Saturday, December 21st, and then they will travel to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day, which happens to fall on a Wednesday this year.
Chiefs MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes was not exactly thrilled while talking about the team’s upcoming schedule in front of the Kansas City media this week.
“It is not a good feeling,” Mahomes said on Wednesday. “I’m excited to play on Christmas to hopefully get back from what we did last year (when the Chiefs lost on Christmas 2023 to the Las Vegas Raiders), but you never want to play this many games in this short of time.”
After this grueling three-game stretch, the Chiefs will have to play a tough divisional game against the Denver Broncos on the road to close out the regular season.
There is no doubt that head coach Andy Reid and Co. have built a culture that is all about toughness and being the best on any given day.
If they can find a way to come out of this stretch better or unscathed, the NFL might be looking at its first-ever back-to-back-to-back Super Bowl champion team.
