With the NBA offseason in full swing and less than two months away from the start of the 2023-24 season on Oct. 24, every basketball fan is getting a look at some of the best young players in the league after they battle it out for head coach Steve Kerr on Team USA in the Philippines.
Team USA is currently competing in the FIBA World Cup, and unlike in years past, Kerr’s squad does not have any superstars on the squad, as his roster is filled with young players looking to make a name for themselves while representing their country.
Although American superstars like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry chose to sit this one out, Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves has really turned some heads during this tournament, which has some believing he’s the next superstar on the rise in the NBA.
On a recent appearance on Gil’s Arena, Patrick Beverley talked about what the future holds for his former Timberwolves teammate, and he believes he will eventually leave Minnesota.

Beverley believes that it is a disservice to Edwards for him not to play in a big market because people won’t be able to see how good he really is and the kind of personality he has, which will flourish under the bright lights of Los Angeles or New York.
However, Edwards did sign a five-year contract extension with the Timberwolves, which will make it difficult for him to play elsewhere anytime soon unless he forces his way out.
It’ll be interesting to see where his career goes from here and if one day he is playing in a big market.
