Kawhi Leonard is regarded as one of the best players in the NBA right now.
Today, Leonard is a two-time NBA champion, alongside having several other accolades on his resume.
But when Leonard was drafted as the 15th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, no one expected him to become the superstar that he is today.
Keeping that in mind, NBA star Patrick Beverley recently claimed that San Antonio Spurs rising star Jeremy Sochan can have a similar ceiling in the league, via Legion Hoops on Twitter.
“He gives me elite, elite player vibes,” Beverley said.
Pat Bev compares Jeremy Sochan to Kawhi:
“People didn’t think Kawhi Leonard was going to be a superstar, when he first came into the NBA. [Sochan] gives me those vibes. He gives me elite, elite player vibes.”

Beverley claims that Sochan may be a role player right now, but he has the potential to become an elite NBA player.
The Spurs used the ninth overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft to acquire Sochan.
Following an impressive rookie year, Sochan is averaging 9.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game for the Spurs in the 2023-24 season.
Considering Sochan was a lottery pick, there is no doubt that he has a lot of potential.
But it may take a couple of years before he can tap into that potential and become an elite superstar in the NBA.
It wasn’t until his fifth season that Leonard averaged more than 20.0 points per game in the regular season.
If Beverley’s prediction about Sochan turns out to be true, the 20-year-old still has a lot of time on his hands to become a star in the league.
