During his NBA career, Patrick Beverley spent four seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Despite offers from other teams, Beverley remained loyal to the Clippers and was paid handsomely for that.
However, speaking on his podcast, via NBACentral, Beverley revealed that Clippers owner Steve Ballmer still hasn’t delivered on one of his promises.
Beverley said that when he turned down a lucrative deal with the Sacramento Kings to stay with the Clippers, Ballmer said he’d build 94 basketball courts around Los Angeles on his behalf.
However, then the COVID pandemic hit, and only two courts were created.
Beverley said he is still waiting on 92 more courts throughout LA and has actually brought this up with the Clippers but no progress has been made.
Pat Bev says Steve Ballmer promised him 92 basketball courts after he turned down a 3-year, $50M offer from the Kings to return to the Clippers for $10M less

Beverley was with the Clippers from 2017-18 to 2020-21.
During that time, he averaged 8.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.3 assists.
Beverley did some great work in Los Angeles and helped the team, especially with his defensive prowess.
He believed in the team, which is a major reason why he stuck around even when other teams were trying to woo him away.
Ballmer is a very involved team owner and has a hands-on approach to acquiring players.
Therefore, it’s no surprise to hear that he made such an offer to Beverley.
It’s also not shocking to hear that Beverley won’t let this issue fade away and was bringing it up after he left the team for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Lakers, and beyond.
This story really sums up both of these men and it gives humorous insight into the behind-the-scenes deals that make the league work.
