The Carolina Panthers have gotten off to a rough start to the 2023 NFL season, with the new-look squad led by rookie quarterback Bryce Young losing their first two games to the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints.
Obviously, losing to two divisional opponents to start the season isn’t a good sign for things to come, and it appears things might have gotten much worse for Carolina heading into Week 3 on the road against the Seattle Seahawks.
It appears the Panthers will have to make do against the Seahawks in Seattle without their No. 1 overall pick.
According to NFL on ESPN, Young is not expected to be on the field for the Panthers when they take on Pete Carroll’s squad on the road.

Young is currently dealing with an ankle injury he suffered in the loss to the Saints on Monday night that will likely keep him sidelined for Week 3’s showdown against the Seahawks.
If Young misses Sunday’s game against the Seahawks, veteran quarterback Andy Dalton will take his place under center in Seattle.
Even though the Panthers are still very high on Young and his potential to be a franchise quarterback in the NFL, he has struggled in his first two weeks in the league, which isn’t all that surprising for a rookie starting right out of the gate.
Young has thrown for 299 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in the losses against the Falcons and Saints.
Clearly, he’ll take a bit longer to show his true potential under center for the Panthers, but that’s to be expected in his situation.
