The Carolina Panthers have drafted their franchise quarterback, taking Bryce Young with the No. 1 pick in this year’s draft.
This has invigorated the fanbase, one of the first times they have been truly excited since the early days of Cam Newton.
While Young will be the presumed day-one starter, Frank Reich has kept the cards close to his chest.
According to Panthers reporter Darin Gantt, Reich wants to ensure that Matt Corral gets enough reps during training camp.
Reich says going to three QBs was designed to get Matt Corral more reps. May add a fourth for training camp, but not sure yet.
They continue to mix Bryce Young in with the first group.

The Panthers’ quarterback room currently consists of Young, Andy Dalton, and Corral.
As Gantt indicates, the team could add another quarterback during training camp, although, that hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Dalton has over ten years of NFL experience, while Corral and Young are very new to the league.
Being that Young is the likely starter, Dalton can provide a safe, veteran presence for him while learning an NFL-style offense.
The organization has continued to promote Corral, after drafting him in the third round of the 2022 draft.
Having multiple quarterbacks on a roster is paramount, given the number of injuries that happen in the NFL.
Take Brock Purdy, for example.
Purdy was buried on the San Francisco 49ers’ roster to begin the 2022 season but ended up being their starter due to team injuries.
He was able to take the team to the NFC Championship before falling to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Could another player on the Panthers live up to a similar fate?
There is a reason that teams give opportunities to the second and third-stringers, especially at the quarterback position.
