The Packers announced the release of offensive tackle Brant Banks on Tuesday as they entered their bye week.

Gutekunst formally communicated the move after Banks had spent just seven days on the active 53-man roster.
The quick reversal came during a critical stretch as the team reassessed its roster strategy and prepared for the second half of the season.
Banks, an undrafted rookie from Nebraska and Rice, earned his practice squad spot after strong training camp evaluations.
He was elevated to the active roster in Week 4 primarily as emergency depth with three top linemen sidelined.
Though he didn’t log any offensive snaps, Banks contributed on special teams and demonstrated his readiness when called upon.
At 6-foot-7 and 306 pounds, Banks brought size and agility that caught Green Bay’s attention during the evaluation process.
His collegiate experience at both guard and tackle added versatility to his profile.
With the bye week allowing several injured linemen to return to health, Banks’ role as emergency depth became less critical.
The team potentially released him while preparing to reintegrate available players and maintain a healthier lineup for their playoff push.
